Honorary Guest '24 - John R. Dilworth!

We are animated to announce that the festival is welcoming the fantastic creator and animator John Russell Dilworth as our honorary guest this year!



Dilworth is a celebrated American animator, actor, writer, director, and producer, best known as the creator of the beloved animated series "Courage the Cowardly Dog".

His impressive body of work has graced major networks such as PBS, CBS, HBO, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, MTV, and many more. An Academy Award nominee for his animated short "The Chicken from Outer Space (1996)", Dilworth’s contributions to the animation industry have influenced countless artists and captivated audiences worldwide.


Dilworth is the recipient of the 2nd Honorary Award, given at the Northern Lights - Fantastic Film Festival, to honor contribution to fantastic films.

Join us for an insightful session where Dilworth will share his vast experiences in the animation industry. He will show example of his independent work and discuss various topics, from securing funding and artistic aesthetics to navigating corporate politics and sharing personal musings on creativity. An interactive Q&A, in between and/or after the masterclass

Courage the Cowardly Dog - Screening & Q&A 

Anniversary Montage Screening of the Best of Courage moments! Following the screening, an interactive Q&A session will allow fans to engage directly with the creator. The series aired regularly on Cartoon Network (1999-2002), attracting huge attention and gaining a large following worldwide.
